Sadia Sindhu is Chief of Staff and Senior Associate Dean for Strategy at the Johns Hopkins School of Government and Policy, where she serves as a member of the Dean’s founding leadership team and as a senior advisor to the Dean.
She is responsible for translating vision into strategy and execution and ensuring that the School’s most consequential decisions are made with rigor, alignment, and long-term institutional health in mind. In her role as Senior Associate Dean, she leads the School’s strategic initiatives team. Her work sits at the intersection of strategy, governance, and execution, and spans every dimension of how the School functions and grows.
Prior to joining Johns Hopkins, Sadia served as founding executive director of the Center for Effective Government at the University of Chicago, where she built the Center’s programmatic, partnership, and operational infrastructure from the ground up. She previously directed the University of Chicago’s Civic Leadership Academy, growing the program to over 330 alumni and launching institutional reform initiatives. Earlier in her career, she held roles in strategic partnerships at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, management consulting at Human Capital Education focused on enrollment strategy and institutional planning, and investment banking at Rothschild Advisory.
A recognized voice in democracy reform and civic engagement, Sadia is a fellow in the Aspen Institute Civil Society Fellowship and has served on the Research Advisory Council for the Partnership for Public Service. She advises nonprofit organizations focused on democratic governance and contributes to public discourse through writing and speaking on democracy-related topics. Sadia holds an M.S. in higher education policy from Northwestern University and a B.S.F.S. in international politics from Georgetown University
