Tené Traylor leads the Center for Opportunity and Wealth Data, an initiative launched by Bloomberg Philanthropies’ Greenwood Initiative to equip decision-makers with data that strengthens wealth-building policy, programs, and investment. She brings more than two decades of executive leadership at the intersection of philanthropy, civic innovation, economic development, racial equity, and community wealth building.

Known for building and repositioning mission-driven organizations, Traylor has led teams and organizations through periods of growth, transformation, and increased public impact. Before joining the Center for Opportunity and Wealth Data, she served at the Urban Institute, first as Vice President for Nonprofits and Philanthropy and later as leader of the Research to Action Lab. There, she merged two policy centers into one division and led more than 50 staff across major research and action-oriented initiatives, including the National Center for Charitable Statistics and the Upward Mobility Framework and Data Dashboard.

Previously, Traylor managed more than $60 million in grantmaking portfolios at The Kendeda Fund and held leadership roles at the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, United Way of Greater Atlanta, and Zeist Foundation. Her work has consistently focused on moving capital, data, and institutional power toward solutions that expand opportunity.

That same focus on capital, data, and institutional change has shaped her work as a founder, civic leader, and educator. In 2017, Traylor co-founded the Atlanta Wealth Building Initiative, now Kindred Futures, to advance data-driven strategies that address racial wealth disparities and strengthen Black wealth building across the American South. From 2021 to 2023, she served as a Commissioner and Interim Board Chair of the Atlanta Housing Authority Board, where she helped advance safe, affordable, and sustainable communities.

Traylor serves on the board of the Morris Brown College Foundation and DEMOS. She is an adjunct instructor at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School. She holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Georgia and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Georgia State University.
